Importance of time

I think we must appreciate Vicki2's quick reactions and presence of mind. Yes I would say it was an excellent exhibition of presence of mind. The challenge is how fast can one react. I remember playing a game once where the game was on how fast can you react in a given situation which is of course a surprise.

That's true, people who are slow to react are probably the one who'll end up with the most trouble and suddenly freak out

Yes that's true. I am among those who are not that fast in responding in a given situation. Late I found fortunately there are few ways by which one can increase the ability to respond fast.

If the person is mad or irrate, try to talk calmly and let reassure him that you wouldn't do anything; this could buy you some time, but in the other hand, try to look for an advantage for your part during such a situation.

I agree with vicki2 that one's reaction just depends on the situation. Buying time is smart in a lot of cases, but in others, like a blitz attack, you have to respond immediately and aggressively.
