I think that you should always be protected and locking doors of your car and home is one way. You can say thay you live in a safe neighborhood, but you can't always be sure that there are certain individuals who are planning to do something within your block or even your house.

I'm a social worker and I have to make a fair number of visits to some areas that aren't so safe, so I always make it a point to lock my car doors.
A nurse who worked with our agency forgot to do that once, and a guy got into her car with her at a stoplight. She said he was more drunk than malicious, and got out when she shouted at him to, but nevertheless how scary! |

Yes! You should it is estimated, last that I read, that 37% of muggings occur because the person hasn't locked their vehicle.
