Default JFK threat

Well, at least it was thwarted but it certainly gives all Americans cause to wonder about how secure some of our potential terrorist targets might really be. In the case of the JFK fuel depot, it would have been difficult for amateurs to do alot of damage with the plans they seem to have had in their possession, but ....

We are an incredibly open country ...does this bother anyone and would they like to see more security?

I would like the security we do have set up to work more. It just seems like either it needs to be better or were not following what is already in place.
I do think that our borders need to be more secure by far.

Me too. Unfortunately, I think too many people consider tough laws an invasion of privacy, and while it isn't hard to agree with that, I also think there are areas where we need to lose those ideas. Technology is so advanced now that somehow building a wall on the Mexican border seems so stupid.

I agree but take this that I just read somewhere else. Muscians are banning Delta because they have to check in their instuments into luggage and they are afraid of them getting lost or damaged. I understand their concern but at the same time this to me is not alot to ask of people and if they allowed them to and something was smuggled onto a plane because of this people would be like why did the airlines allow it on to begin with.

I know that some musicians carry instruments that were made five and six hundred years ago and are priceless historical pieces. Those are the ones that are probably up in arms. Still, I'd rather risk losing one of these lovely artifacts that I would risk losing a plane full of people.

One gripe I have with the airlines is that they know they now have more checked baggage because of extra security. They've done nothing about improving the quality of baggage service ....if anything it's gotten worse. And the airlines wonder why people hate them so much.
