Please help me to answer the following question:
IS CCTV-IP is already widely use for security purpose ?
I heard that CCTV-IP could be plud directly to RJ 45 wall outlet, as part of sturucture cabling system, right ?

What is advantage & disadvantage of CCTV-IP compare to ordinary digital CCTV camera ?

Thank you for your time

CCTV-IP is a kind of devices that encode the video & audio & PTZ signal, transmitte throught LAN cable, needs a PC running a client software for decoding, needs local net or internet support. Pictures and performance not so good as ordinary CCTV cameras, even at H.264 compression.

IP CCTV is indeed increasingly commonly used in surveillance and monitoring - I know we've covered a few big systems at national centres (ie, St Pancras station in London for the Eurostar connection) and others.
