I need to install CCTV cameras at truckdocks, mainly to capture the loading/unloading activities within the truck when it is docked to the building.
My concern is how to do it because I need to deal with the problem of backlight. If I were to install the cameras from within the building, looking out of the truckdock openings, the glare from outside the building, namely from the reflection of the roadway, would render the images dark. Has anyone done a similar installation successfully? Any tips or suggestions? |

Thanks, Yale, for your reply. Are you saying it is an issue with the camera condition? But I do have other cameras which are still in good condition but having same problem.
Correct me if I am wrong, I thought that with the presence of a dark area and a bright light source, the problem would always be there because the iris in the camera will need to adjust to either condition. So, the image would either be too bright or too dark, right? |

both cameras have backlight compensation function, so the background can see clearly, the difference is the 'glare inhibition' will let you see the bulbs inside the lamp.
the iris is for average light sources around the area. |

Wow, that's great! It may just be the thing I am looking for!
I am told to look at cameras with wide dynamic range. Also, someone recommended the use of Fujinon lenses. Any comments on that? |
