delay in capturing

I just installed a KMC-4400R DVR with DigiNet software on my windows XP PC. The motion capturing is very slow and it hangs most of the time resulting in some images not being captured instantly.
How to resolve this?

If it's not a silly question, how much RAM do you have on your PC?

It's just that if your PC is somewhat old and hasn't got great resources available, you may find it's simply struggling to cope with the video data.

Alternatively, what sort of connection are you using? Just in case there's a connection problem, such as a wireless system with some of the signal getting blocked.
